For a host who carves at the table, the largest TeakHaus Herringbone board is as much a serving piece as a cutting board. The canal side takes a turkey, a prime rib or a brisket and keeps the juices contained; turn it over and the flat herringbone face holds a grazing board for a crowd.

On ordinary days it is also a large prep surface for batch cooking. The herringbone pattern makes the most of teak’s range of color, with each strip showing its own tone.

Two cautions before ordering. At 24 x 18 inches, the board needs a deep counter and will not fit most sinks; size is a reason customers return TeakHaus boards, so measure first. The board also needs regular oiling, as set out below.

Natural Color and Grain

Teak is a natural material, and no two boards are alike. Color ranges from golden to deeper brown, and a board may show darker streaks or changes in tone from one strip of wood to the next. The board you receive will differ from the one photographed. These variations are a characteristic of the wood, not a defect.

Before First Use

TeakHaus boards ship pre-oiled and ready to use. Wash the board with warm, soapy water, rinse it and dry it with a towel before the first use.

Care

Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry with a towel right away.
Do not put the board in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.
TeakHaus recommends oiling its boards with food-grade mineral oil 2 to 3 times per month. TeakHaus EON Cutting Board Conditioning Oil is made for this purpose, and the TeakHaus EON Cutting Board Seasoning Stick is a quick touch-up between oilings.
