Kyocera Vertical Double-Edge Ceramic Peeler, Black

A vertical peeler works like a paring knife with a guard, the blade running in line with the handle. On the Kyocera Vertical Double-Edge Ceramic Peeler, both sides of the blade are sharp, so it peels on the push and on the pull, and Kyocera notes that it accommodates any peeling style. The eye corer at the tip digs out potato eyes and blemishes on carrots and other root vegetables without reaching for a knife.

Kyocera suggests it for smaller fruits and vegetables, which suits apples, cucumbers and parsnips. By Kyocera’s measure, the zirconia ceramic blade outlasts a steel edge by as much as ten to one. It will not rust or brown food.

A question customers bring to us is whether the ceramic peeler is dishwasher safe. Kyocera lists this one as dishwasher safe.
