Benriner mandolines are for easy hand slicing of varying thicknesses. The Standard and Super models come with three additional blades for cutting strips from matchstick to french fries. The Jumbo model does not. These are a must for au-gratin potatoes and dishes requiring a lot of thin cuts. Benriners are extremely popular with Chefs because they are light, razor sharp, and one of the only mandolines that has a finger screw which is tightened to lock in the blade depth. Jumbo Benriner Japanese Mandoline , No. 120
The same great performance as the old Jumbo Mandoline with new features including; an ergonomic handle, non-slip base, hook for placement over bowls and extended height adjustment. But the biggest design change is a knob on the underside that you turn for thickness adjustment. The older model used set screws and it was possible to make slices that came out uneven.
