To use, you simply insert the apple onto the spikes and turn the crank. It will peel, slice and core in one simple operation. Makes easy work for apple sauce and pies. You can choose to pare (peel) only by detaching the slicer/corer blade. Or inversely you can slice and core while leaving the peel on. Unfortunately you can not peel and slice without the coring blade (which would have been useful for potatoes)
