Ateco 12-inch Straight Icing Spatula with Plastic Handle

A 12-inch blade suits half-sheet cakes. It crosses most of the width of the cake in one pass, and the 1.75-inch width carries enough buttercream to cover a large surface without constant reloading.

The blade is ground thinner toward the tip, so it flexes for smoothing while the heel stays firm enough to move a layer.

For full-sheet cakes and very large tiers, the 14-inch adds reach. For 10-inch rounds, the 10-inch is the handier size.
