The Messermeister Meridian Elite 8 inch Granton Edge Carving Knife has a thin and nimble body that tapers to a narrow spear-point tip and a finely ground edge. This knife is used for carving; specifically for carving small to medium sized items like game birds and other poultry. It can be used to cleanly separate flesh from the bone and create thin slices for serving portions. The "Granton" dimples are cut in an alternating pattern on each side of the blade to reduce drag and prevent sticking. This carving knife can also be used for larger jobs, like carving roasts or trimming brisket, but for these tasks you may find yourself making a few extra cuts due to the length of the blade.
