Utility Knives
Named for their utilitarian nature, utility knives can be used for a wide variety of tasks. Their thin blades minimize resistance and are a preferred tool of many cooks when slicing and dicing stickier foods like potatoes. Typically ranging from 4 to 7 inches in length, utility knives are the perfect tool to use when your chef knife is too big to maneuver precisely, but your paring knife is just too darn small.

F. Dick Dark Nitro Paring Knife
The Friedrich Dick Dark Nitro Paring/Petty Knife with a 4.75 in. (12 cm) long blade is suitable for peeling, small cutting tasks and decorating. With the DarkNitro series Friedr. Dick once again shows ultimate knife art. From the interaction of the unique blade optics with hammered finish and carbon look as well as the handle made of noble oak wood, unique knives are created. Friedrich Dick uses a special martensitic, stainless and nitrogen-alloyed steel in the DarkNitro series. This results in a unique combination of excellent cutting performance, exceptional hardness of 61 HRC and special corrosion resistance. For a perfect material structure, DarkNitro knives are forged in a special process and then ice-hardened at temperatures down to -100°. The very fine micro-structure of the steel allows for simple sharpening, resulting in a very sharp cutting edge. The oak handle symbolizes endurance, power and strength. The sharp and clear line of the handle reinforces the knife's aesthetics. We use the finest robust oak wood for the handle. Oak trees are known for their longevity; a tree can grow over 800 years old. The oak tree is shrouded in legend and steeped in history and is known for being one of the main deciduous trees in Europe. Ships were built with oak as long as 1,000 years ago and until today, oak barrels are used to store special whisky and wine. So it's no wonder that we chose an oak handle for our new unique series of knives. Learn More$185.00
